How can I become a member of the Appalachian Highlands Nurses Honor Guard?

To become a member, simply fill out an application form and pay the required dues. Once your application and dues are received, you will be added to group communication and receive information on how to obtain your cape, hat, and pin.

Are there any benefits of being a member?

Yes, as a member, you are eligible for PACE points for attending meetings and participating in events organized by the Appalachian Highlands Nurses Honor Guard.

Where do I get my uniform?

The Nurses Honor Guard uniform consists of a white uniform (dress or top/pants), white cap, and a blue cape with red lining. Shoes/socks/hosiery are to be white. The uniform must be professional in appearance (clean, stain and wrinkle free).

  • Currently, we have the option to purchase capes for $60.00 plus shipping from an independent seamstress associated with the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard. 
  • You can also have someone make the cape for you. The following lists the pattern, fabric, and accessories that must be used if you choose this route. It is imperative to use the correct pattern and fabric (material and color).

How often do we meet?

We have monthly meetings with the option of joining via Webex/ Teams. The location of our meetings rotates between several meeting rooms at different local hospitals.

Once you are a member, you will be added to a GroupMe for Appalachian Highlands Nurses Honor Guard. This is where we share information about services and communicate with one another. You can also check our Facebook page for updates.
